I just got done looking @ some pics of the devistation that the "Nush" has indured this past winter.Major flooding has happened and look's as if half the fishing camps are wasted, kinda looked like "Hurricane Katrina" hit big time. The higher camps looked to be OK as the lower end camps seemed to be all but gone.If one has a trip set up in a lower camp they may want to be asking some questions. The camp I stayed @ a couple years ago seems to be good to go "Alaska King Salmon Adventures"
Hope all is well.Good luck,

Ouch. Things looked pretty messed up.

I'll post the photos once I get permission.

Sorry for the losses for those camp owners...IMO a good example of why not to own riverfront property with any elaborate fixed structure on it. Those 100 yr floods seem to happen with a little more frequency these days.

Are most of those camps teardown/seasonal or permanent?

Yes, like Abu said, it will be a lot of sloppy work for the crew when they get up to the camps. I wonder how the camps faired down around Blood Beach ? Down in Tidewater, they may not be their at all. We had a year like that on the Kanektok, You had to put on your hip boots to get out of bed. It sucked, the only dry place on the Island was a little patch of gravel we had dumped the year before. On a high note the King run was off the hook that year, kings were in all the side channels and sloughs.

Hey Guys

Just a little update on the Nush, We have the lowest camp on the river, The second picture to the Bottom is our place.

We have been there in that location for 26 years this year, We have the lowest camp on the river... This years flood caused by the ice jams is the highest flooding on record.

Not a good year to have to pour money back into camps with the way the economy is, But it is what it is and we will move forward.

As it is right now less than 20% of the Camps, lodges, and private individuals will be back to the NUSH.

I wish everyone the BEST.

It is ugly, to say the least, for a large amount of the camps on the Nush.

On a positive note, I thought I would give you a quick update on Alaska King Salmon Adventures.

As most of you know, Three Rivers Marine acquired Alaska King Salmon Adventures in 2008.

Since that acquistion, some exciting things have been happening.

We have been fortunate in the fact that we were able to purchase the land that our new camp is being built on. Our new camp is across the river and down a very short distance from our previous location.

As many of you are aware, most camps on the Nush lease the land and are limited in what can be done as far as improvements.

With the purchase of our new site, we are under no such "lease" restrictions.

Construction of the camp is going awesome.

We have a crew up there as we speak putting the final touches on the camp. It will be better than ever.

Just as exciting to us as the all new location is the fact that our guys on site have been seeing fish roll in the river and have even landed the first one on a plunking rod. Sweet......... The river, at our camp, is in great shape and it is going to be a great year.

Please keep in mind that we have a few remaining spots open and if we can help you out in any way....please feel free to contact us.

Call the store and ask for Scott (425-415-1575)

Fish on.....

Hi Jake,

It's on the same side as the Yurt camp but about a 1/4 mile downriver...right at the mouth of the slough.
