Reminds me of the donkeys who flew to DC in Gulfstreams to beg for bailout money.

And we gave it to them.

Joke's on us, huh?

So now they guy is abusing the system and possibly getting a meal he dosent need. Also slowing down the line, increasing the energy consumption to run the food line and contributing to global warming. What a jerk

Wow, the dark side used to be almost exclusively the Todd/KK Variety Hour.... with guest appearances by Irie and Go Harley. Now we've got The BG Stick/Blue Water Pro Comedy Marathon.

Oh back to the topic... DV.. that was NOT fact that Todd brought to the discussion. The individual was not identified as homeless or otherwise helping to serve the homeless.

10% unemployment... I work a lot with people in the construction industry. There are lots of guys that were making a very good living on with no diploma and only one set of skills. Take away that job and then offer them unemployment compensation at a payment no one else will hire them for and you wonder why they never get off? Especially when you keep continuing it for them. I have met quite a few guys that say they have no intention of looking for a real job. No reason to. There is no way they can make as much as they can on unemployment. We need to make sure that if they intend to extend unemployment benefits, they do so at a continuing droppintg rate.

I think the point that KK and DV are making is that the original "priceless" photo ought to have been titled "baseless", instead...he may not be homeless, his phone may not have cost $300, his service may not cost $100/month, and the program is not in any way financed by the gubmint either way...it's a private shelter paid for by private money.

"Priceless" should be the tag on all the furious folks who posted on the first page of this thread...that, or "idiotic"...

Fish on...

The pathetic thing is....if this photo would have been a cracker instead of a black dude all of the LEFT LOONS wouldn't have said boo, with the exception of BWP. The liberal guilt that some of you show is really nauseating to say the least. And to think that Todd would take time from his busy schedule ( two jobs ) to research this is TFF. rofl

My question was simplistic, despite it fully stumping your most meager of faculties.

"Under what stipulation(s),is free money not Welfare to an able bodied/minded soul, who's under the age of Retirement?"

Then please:

(1) Cite the "business(es)" which embraces UEI.

(2) Then brag up the State

My realm of reason is rather in check,as per always...it's a given and much to your chagrin.

Which is why I marvel at how much stupidity you can espouse.

Case in point:

"The MAIN business that embraces UEI is Boeing. How else would a community stand for the hiring & lay offs, how else could any community survive the layoffs other than UEI? Are you brain dead?"

'Splain me this Lucy. WHY would a healthy community of industrious soles, fret, give a shitt or otherwise care what Boeing thinks, says or does?!!? Especially given the per capita "hit".

Further, who in their right mind, would dictate the fiscal druthers of a private enterprise(Boeing),as being the sounding board for an Industrious Nation(the U.S. of A.) diversified to the Nth degree and far more reaching in it's scope of work?

Besides a brain dead Hamburger Technician, with both hands out, eager to holster whatever Welfare comes her way?

Quite a Swan Song you have there Toots.

The insulation from UEI,is simply being a valuable employee.

I've no doubt that will stump you yet again,as the premise of being an asset,is lost upon you and your like.

Big Stick lives in Bumfuk, AK. WTF would he know about corporate America, or life in general for that matter, except that he can get snowmobile parts, ammo, and KY Jelly all in one place when he decides to make his 7-day annual visit to civilization.

I don't understand why you guys let this fuggin' hick troll you so easily.

"Getting your goat" is almost always a conscious choice...rarely happens on accident...

Can't speak for everyone, but speaking for myself, I'll never cash in on UEI to the tune of what I've paid in...mainly 'cuz I actually enjoy going to work and earning my keep, unlike many.

That being said, I don't necessarily begrudge it to those who have paid in, and find themselves in a temporary bind...temporary being the second most important part, coming in behind "have paid in"...

Fish on...

I got laid off back in '02 and tried to find work for several months without success. I had been in sales/production work, but our local economy slumped hard for a while. I took a job roofing for two years because I needed to work and wanted to work. Unemployment was a stop-gap measure that worked for me because I was trying to get off the dole the whole time it kept me afloat. I am glad it was there for me.

I also had time to catch a lot of fish woot smile

Bluewater,
It becomes welfare when we continue to pay it indefinitely. I am not agianst unemployment. But the problem I see is that many people are never going to be able to find a job that pays the same as what they got in the past unless they go back into the same industry. I am simply saying that if the Gov't feels the need to extend benifits beyond the normal time period, it should then start lowering the benefits each month. If you can't find a job that will pay you enough 6 months, maybe you should start considering you need to take a lower paying one. What about after a year? Eighteen months? At some point the benefits are used up and it does become welfare.
