Not really a fly in the tradional sense, but a great fish producer non the less.

Good Idea. I wonder if I could cast and wake one from a 10 wt, or if it'd have too much resistance in the air. I cast alot of poppers so something different would be good.

No problem casting an ace high with a 10wt. The only problem I see with that plan is you wont have much of a fight. 5lb pink or a res coho on a 10wt will feel like a 10" brook on a 6wt...

My guess is you can get an ace hi out there OK with a 7 or 8wt.

Good luck!

Those smaller Ace Hi flies cast great, but you (or at least I) think the 9 wt is needed for the wind I was in. Had 2 good swirls, no hook-ups, but there's always tomorrow. Interesting is it was easy to manipulate the line speed int he water so it could be fished dry/waking, or subsurface. Most flies are "either/or" , but the Ace-Hi does both.
