Going to attempt my first drift of the upper Wynoochee. What's roughly the float time from White Bridge to 13 corners. Any suprises or tough spots along the way? Thanks.

White Bridge is "upper" Wynoochee? Good call. Without common terms, confusion is certain.

If meant the 7400 to white bridge. It is an all day float. You have to fish fast or things can get real interesting. Have not floated this year but, know others who have. Couple of interesting spots. Not aware of any sweepers. pay attention to the horizon line and get out and scout.

Do not lolly gag or you will spending the night or floating in the dark!

If your talkin white bridge to crossover its short, 2 miles I would say. White brideg or crossover to black creek would be a better on its 8 or 9 miles. Not really any tough spots on the Nooch, wish there was might thin out the crowd. Oh I mean watchout for the big sweepers and boulder gardens around every corner. Good Luck

White to cross can be done in a couple hours. If ya spend more then 4 hours in that stretch then you have beat it to death.Good luck,
STRIKE ZONE

Pretty sure it's 3 miles from White bridge to Crossover, no hazards. 12 miles from 7400 to White bridge with a few navigational hazards. 12 miles also from Save Ck gage to 7400, with a lot more nav. hazards. 7 or 8 miles from the barrier dam to Save Ck gage with a very serious, not drift-boatable, nav. hazard. Do NOT do this one unless you're hard core equiped to portage. Been there, done that, haven't been back.

Sg

PS: there is no bridge of any color at White bridge. Good catch SZ.

Hiking around up in the canyon area below the dam I found some pontoon boats that were completely mangled a few years back. I've heard stories of guys not knowing better and thinking they can pack the toon down below the fish collection area and let er rip, what a mistake, that water makes the sol duc look easy.

Come on Strike Zone in the not so distant past I know a hole between white bridge and crossover you would spend 1/4 of the day in and be punched out when you left. Sadely to say those where the days... Matt

Come on Matt,Back in the day if it took more then a couple hours to limit out between white & cross you most likely wipped your ass wrong or had a poke threw that morning and your offering was stinky.I remember and will never forget.Fun times, fun times.Good luck,

Bad news, the big cliff hole about 4 miles above Carter Creek gave way yesterday evening, right across from that pole structure. Tossing mud and debris downstream as we speak.

Oh well, no reason to fish this weekend, as the Super Bowl will be on.
