Based on recent events, I'm curious to see who among you has renewed your CCA membership since the last time I put a CCA roll call thread on the board. I realize this will probably draw the usual barbs from the organization's critics who have never been members. Not really interested in those remarks. But I am genuinely interested in hearing out any ex-member's remarks. Doesn't have to be anything too eloquent. Simply a yes, I'm still on board .... +/- an affirmation of why (optional). Or no, I let my renewal lapse.... +/- why the CCA lost your support (again the reason is optional) Or yes, I recently signed up for membership. *** As for me, renewed and still on board. How about you?

Keith, you must have missed this part. No, I read his original post, just thought I'd ask the question anyhow... Just figured there might be other members of this site that LB could possibly convince in joining some day... Keith

New member to CCA as of October or there abouts. Between PSA and CCA they worked pretty hard on reversing the area 4A rockfish rules. I don't poke out around the corner very often up there at Neah Bay, but the help I received from them in my personal vendetta against commissioner Jennings was extremely helpful.
I count that particular battle as a win that was worth my $25.
I am definitely not a Koolaid drinker by any means, but I feel the more partners we have, the better. I've attended 1 or two meetings at most. I have stuff to do so I don't go often, but if they need help, I'll show up to deal with it as needed.
Right now, as I've learned recently, fellow fishermen are not my enemy, and honestly, neither are the Tribes. My enemy's enemy is my friend, and it helps to have friends right now. If you think the crap we are dealing with right now is all we have to worry about, you are wrong.
They'll be outlawing bug zappers and butterfly nets soon, and you'll have to get your migratory butterfly stickers next year when you renew your driver's license. Asshattery is afoot.

The wife and I are both members. Reminds me of old sports saying-----while you are not practicing, someone else is-------while you are not politically involved about issues that are close to your heart, someone else is. now is the time, don't let it go by

The naysayers are few but loud. What amazes me is when we are out signing up new members we keep getting (WHATS THE CCA) we have a lot of work to do, please talk it up, the more the merrier. 25 new members here in Kitsap in the last month plus one for grays harbor and one for up north........Let her rip

I re-upped as well. I know their mission does not answer all the issues I'd like to see addressed, but since they are on point for a few things I support I am in.
If on the balance they do more good than harm then 25 bucks is a great deal. They don't have to share the exact same agenda as me on every position for me to support them. . .only an idiot would demand for that,

I have a school board meeting the 23rd, not on it anymore, but a friend needs some support. I sent the GH committee folks some data on how we do things at DU, which was last Saturday evening. Went well as far as attendance. $300-400 items went for $100-150, so there were MANY bargains. I am available as a "consultant", gratis.
