So, my sister called me the other day and asked me how I have been weathering the Year of the Tiger thus far. I knew she was referring to the Chinese zodiac, but I couldn't figure out what differences in my life she might be expecting to hear about. I asked her for an explanation.
Then, she reminded me that the Year of the Tiger is said to be a time of constant change and unrest, and that the Ox (which is what I am, according to those cool placemats they have at a lot of Chinese restaurants), who is obsessed with order and normality, is typically very uneasy in the Year of the Tiger. I have been thinking this over during the past few days, and I think there is definitely something to it. From what I have seen, this year has been crazy for people all over the world. Consider the recent rash of earthquakes, for one example.
Or, on a note that might interest more people on this board, how about the early closure of the Skagit and Snohomish systems?
Personally, I have been dealing with a lot of changes and tough choices in my home and work environments (some of you read the thread I posted asking for mortgage advice).
I'm not Chinese, and I'm generally not superstitious, but I find myself attributing a lot of craziness these days to the Year of the Tiger. And, being an Ox, I definitely have been disturbed by the bumpy ride thus far.
Anyone else having similar revelations?
