Just got the news that we have a friend coming into portland the beginning of august and wants to try salmon fishing(for the first time).

We thought a charter would be good. I've been going out of westport for a few years but thought maybe this would be a good time to try Ilwaco. What do you think Westport or Ilwaco or ??
and if somewhere other than westport, any charter recommendations ??

Ocean off Ilwaaco will be good for coho at that time. Westport too.
Give Kevin Vasereno of the Gold Rush a try if you go out of Westport....top notch dude and boat.

Never fished out of Illwaco, for Wesport I use the Tequila Too for my bottom fishing trips. Great skipper and excellent crew, they work hard to put you on the fish.
