Looks like the Iraqis are finding out just how trustworthy the U. S. Government is with other peoples (insert taxpayers) money.

I don't think it's US taxpayer's money, according to this exerpt:
"The $9.1 billion in question came from the Development Fund for Iraq, which was set up by the U.N. Security Council in 2003. The DFI includes revenues from Iraq's oil and gas exports, as well as frozen Iraqi assets and surplus funds from the defunct, Saddam Hussein-era U.N. oil-for-food program."

And just to stir the pot:
"With the establishment of the Coalition Provisional Authority, which ran Iraq shortly after the start of the U.S. invasion in 2003 until mid-2004, about $20 billion was placed into the account. The $9.1 billion audited by the Iraq reconstruction inspector general were funds withdrawn from that account between 2004 and 2007."
I'm sure this is President Obama's fault somehow.

I didn't mean it was U.S. taxpayers funds, just that we can understand thier plight. You are right about the "R"'s figuring out some way to blame this on either Clinton or Obama. You won't hear about this stuff from Rush.

Government waste is nothing new folks. It has existed with every form of government from the beginning and it mattered little if it was monarchy, dictatorship, republic, or democracy. ( although pure democracies have proven the most vulnerable and dictators seem to thin it down quicker with the use of force )

Mr. Lincoln once stated that with one out of three dollars for the war effort going to corruption the North could loose the war. Your throwing darts at a target that has always existed and always will as long as the human population has nations and government. It simply a question of degree.
