Ouch! I've felt that pain a couple times in my life, once on salmon, once with sturgeon.

Pretty sad to lose one of the most reliable salmon trolling reels to ever grace my vessel. Why couldn't it have been one of those POS Tekotas or one of the newer ABU's that hardly last a season without serious maintenance issues. Even my Calcutta TE 700 is giving me drag fits now, and it's only 5 years old!

I swear all the newer high dollar reels don't hold a candle to the stuff made over 40 years ago! Horribly disappointed with every recent reel purchase I have made within the past 5 years.

I hope that Saltist LD proves to be the exception.

Yep.... 30 cc intravenous bolus of ProCure UV Sardine oil directly into the jugular would have done the trick.

Massive congealed sardine oil embolus into the pulmonary circulation would've dropped them all in a few heartbeats.

I'm sure most don't get returned. My buddy got lucky on his. He has an unusual
spelling of his last name. With his name being on the rod, he was pretty easy to track down for the return.
Props to the guy who found and returned it.
Hopefully someone will dredge yours up Doc.

You know what'll happen.......You'll have that fella on your boat again who you were telling me about last night; the one who claims to have the powers of shutting down a fishery on anyone's boat? His streak will be alive and well, trolling along, then he'll get a strike, set the hook and say "Hey, this doesn't feel right. Do fish fight like this?"
