You guys will be basking in some serious glory for a few weeks (months?) to come.

I smell a feature SSJ pictorial soon.

Just don't wimp out and give ALL the pics away for free Ryley!

Good show boyz ...now leave the crutches at home next year and at least make it a challenge. Glad you guys got up on an up year rather than several of the down that have been the case for a bit.

PS All trees planted and accounted for smile

Gave it an honest effort! Definitely a way to keep other anglers from fishing too close as well as my buddy giving me instruction!

Here are Danny's pics...and since I'm posting them, I get to put in the captions smile

Danny with one he garnered up in a borrowed gillnet:

Long hen caught by a flyflinger trouter from Idaho, Micah:

Danny wrassled this one to shore with no lure, no rod, no line, and no net...just brute strength:

By far Danny's best fish of the trip:

Team effort netting up Ryan's swung fly fish...

Hopefully they all work now!

Fish on...

Todd

Great post that brought back many memories of the great people and remarkable experiences. Hauled a few out of many of those same runs. Need to get back up there again....

They learned how to use their crutches from you Bob.

Shoot, Ripley had a spey rod up their but it was last seen zip tied together in 2 pieces. There was another fly rod in that camp that had a large bobber attached to it, also zip tied. Kaiser had a couple of reels that I saw. Nice reels too, but they didn't leave the pathfinder. I suspect there was a flyrod in that SUV to match the reels.

In all truth, there was signifigant talk of flyrod friday, however the weather conspired against it. Next year. There is always next year.

Hey , I did put some time in with a single hander....Yep, about 35 minutes smile

I rigged up two fairy wands and left them leaned up against the tent at camp the whole time so that we wouldn't suffer any midnight raiding parties from the flyflinger camps around us.

Actually, we did make plans for a one or two day fly only excursion, but the pouring rain and rising rivers for three days at the end of the trip shot the plans all to hell, and we ended up fishing muddy waters for a day and then packing up and leaving early.

Like all successful fly anglers, I've fished enough of the rivers there now to find out where and how the fish hang out, and I'll go out next year and show them some flies...I especially have a few spots where it will be a dry fly show only, after seeing mature steelhead sip caddises off the surface repeatedly in the evenings...what an incredible thing to watch!

Fish on...

Todd
