Hi All! Been a long time lurker but never really participated much. Consider Canyon Man a long time friend but please do not hold that against me. If you ever need any dirt on him, just let me know as there is lots to be told.

Would love to get the opinions of guys that really have a pulse on the fishing/boating community. I have a 1995 Alumaweld Intruder 18 ft. with a 1995 115 hp Merc and 6 horse Merc kicker. 115 needs some head work but has a brand new cowl/cover and is in good shape. Do not want to dump a couple grand into the motor so thinking about selling. WTB a drift boat to replace. What do you all think this boat and motor package is worth with the engine not repaired. As well as what you think it is worth repaired.

Know you are requested to share a fishing story as a newbie so here it goes. Grew up in OC Oregon along the Willamette. backbouncing for springers before I could drive. One day I skipped school and joined in on the hot springer bite (those were the days.) We were having a great day and dropped out of the hogline with another fish. As I dropped the bag on the fish, a boat motoring nearby snapped a pic. Didn't think much of it until I was called into the Principal's office the next day. He asked me why I wasn't at school the day before. Tried the sicker than a dog excuse route but he just smiled and pulled out the front page of the local paper that had me on the cover netting a fish. Ouch! Looked me dead in the eye and said, "if that fish is not on my front porch by tonight, I think we have a problem." Wouldn't be the last time a salmon got me out of hot water. Just ask Canyon man.

Thanks in advance for your help on the boat question. Cheers!!

Just bought a MM IBJ and been doing the search for a month ah maybe two. It is a buyers world big time. Best way to get a feel is do a Craigslist search and see the prices. Then do Boattrader do 500 mile area and search your make and take a look. If your going to sell it Dec through Feb are the bad months then it picks up. With the economy people are dumping toys and boats qualify as toys.

Little off topic but if ever there was a time to buy a fiberglass ocean boat 21 to 24 this is it! They are going from 15 to 40 and at 40 you can get a low hour 22 Trophy in mint condition fully equipped for 39. Buyers market.

great story!
Rivrguy has the market dialed. IMO you would be better off to just do the search for a driftboat, buy a good deal and hang on to your Intruder until sometime later....as in at least 6 months.
Good Luck and Welcome

Wow! Sorry about your fish being used as payoff for your release from potential detention. That is some tough stuff there.

Nice story and welcome aboard, get a cup sometimes it gets rough.
