man I totally over estimated, I was thinking it felt way bigger. Must have forgot how to estimate steelhead after not catching a steelhead over 8 lbs since march. could some one give me a link to the fish calculator?

thanks neal, the length is what threw me off, 32 inch fish I have landed in the past were from 10-12lb+, I guess this one was a little snaky.

Or you could do it long hand yourself -
A commonly accepted formual is
(Length X Girth X Girth)/775 = Weight
Tight lines Curt

I'm surprised you guys are saying that light. I was always told that a pound for every inch over 20 is pretty close. So this fish being 32 would be 12 pounds.

Hey Curtis, good going! You're getting a lot of action in this high water!
From the pic on the ground, the buck wasn't snaky. Forget the calculater. If the buck was 32 inches, it was an 11 or 12 pound fish.

Originally posted by Mingo: Curtis, what the hell is that lure in the bottom pic? Did you catch that fish on a cigarette butt?
Mingo, That it what was left of my pink worm when I caught the fish. However I have caught steelhead on pieces of pink worms that are only 1" long. Yeah, I thought the fish felt like it weighed more than 8lbs, I am going with 10-12lbs. Today went back and went 1 for 5 on steelhead . Caught a 31" x 14" hatchery hen today(pics will come monday night). I broke 3 off and one threw the hook. All fish today hooked on a cherise colored 4.5" pink worm with a size 12 pearl clown corky ahead of it. Today I drift fished it instead of using a float. Two of the fish I broke off were 8-12lb bucks, just gotta keep the thumb off the spool when using 8lb leader. The other fish I broke off nailed the pink worm, came to the surface and broke the leader right at the hook, a big buck around 14lbs. The one that threw the hook was a little 6lb chromer. Curtis

Curtis, it's a good thing you're using that 8# leader! You would be banking too many fish if you were going with regular winter gear. Keep the pics coming!

sucker,
less fish would bite if I want to bigger leader, however with a pink worm and dirty water I could probably do good with 12lb leader.
