Out of all the gami's i have gone thru. Very few have bad. Its actually quite rare to find a bad eye, or defective hook in a 100 pack. Visions...I expect to find a few. I take a good look at every one. I have a good selection of hooks in my man cave. I like a good deal when I buy any kind of gear, but when I take a trip for money fish. Its gami, or owner all the way. If I could pick one hook for all my steel, and salmon fishing, and money was no object. It would probably be the Owner Mosquito's.

I fished kings in the salt for the first time in a while this year. I had a few hundred old eagle claw lazer sharps. I bent a bunch on fish, and I was only using 15lb line. It never cost me a fish tho.. You wouldn't expect that to happen with 1/0 or 2/0 hooks. I was maxing the equipment out due to seals. I put the skids on a few using some #4 gami's. I did'nt bend one. If ther wasn't so many dang dfish around I wouldn't have been such a cheap ass. Ya just can't help who you are.

I haven't straightened out a 3/0 EC nor Mustad Octopus hook that I can ever recall but I only use 12# test. I also don't use light wire hooks either but then again I use a pole that can set a heavy wire hook deep.

I also think that a big difference in the past 2 years has been using a dremel to completely remove the barb of every hook I use. I wish could find barbless versions of all the hooks I use that resemble what the hook looks like after I am done with it.
