Bald Eagles do not like ether fired taters flying by their perch. (It was an accident we swear) Zipties are not very cool. It backed the line up at the ramp for the rest of us. Steelhead rods do not require an Expeditor service. Just a scotch tape band aid and you're good to go... Post up some vids and pics.

I'm looking forward to a pic thread and someday hopefully attending the event. Hooking up with even the smaller hatchery fish must be insane on those rods.

One thing I know your team already perfected is how to row out of the hatchery drift with your fish. That should have been in my net, way to go boys.

I am looking forward to the zip tie story Me too. Must have really sucked for the 14 boats stuck behind that loser trying to cut zip ties off his anchor rope, winch, strap, eye bolt, oars, net, latches, oar locks, and anything laying on the floor.....with his teeth.

The zip tie story.
Somehow overnight almost everything in our boat was zip tied closed, shut, together, or to something else it shouldn't have been attached to. All hatches, lockers, the net, oars, anchor, trailer winch, tie down strap, etc, were zip tied shut, so the tackle, including knives and pliers were locked away.
Sounds like a good joke.
What happened though, was we were about first in line at the launch, so everyone else had to wait while we found some pliers and then searched the entire boat for zip ties in the dark. There was quite a line behind us.

You forgot about the base board heater and the blankets. There could have been a hot time in the house that night.

Wow that whole zip tie thing sucks. That gave the guys ahead of you a little more free time in Dimmel and the hatchery drift too......Sounds like a good prank though....& I hope you find out who did it!

The boat owner did refer to the weasel with many different names, while accurate and I'm sure many people (mreyns) use the same names when talking about him, I don't think they were the ones given to him at birth.

....& I hope you find out who did it! Ryley playing the nice and mystified one? Classic. I knew it went down and thought, we'd sure as hell better get to the launch before those guys. We didn't. People were lined up beyond the entrance gate. With the exception of one group of non-SRC certifiable a-holes from Forks, we had a really good time (like always). It sure feels good tossing a real reel and rod the next day!

You forgot about the base board heater and the blankets. There could have been a hot time in the house that night. Who puts a portable bed next to a baseboard heater? Couldn't figure out why it was so friggen hot that night. Effer coulda caught fire. Good times, and the house didn't burn down too.

Could the zip-tied rig have been pulled to the side out of the way so others could launch?
Just ask'in. I sure would not have pulled to the side and I would have been telling everyone who was to blame! Buddies, got to love em but don't turn your back. Fishy

I remember the look I got from Riley when I proceded to shoot him with his own super soaker. (Of course, we were soon pelted by a perfusion of sand shrimp.)
Rule #1, lock your crap up, and leave the boat FAR away from the party house.

We possible could have pulled to the side, but we were already over to the side and when I looked to see if there were boats that could be waved past, all the boats right behind us were still putting on their gear and getting their boats ready.
We were doing this while in line and pulling forward, it was the last couple of zip ties that slowed things down.
I don't think the three minute delay created an issue for anyone.
