I love snakes, just never thought of owning one. How long is it? What do you feed it?

I was ready to buy a snake a couple years ago when we had rat problems.....
Now, not so much. I really am not a snake lover, but, definitely despise rats or other rodents in the house, the lesser of two evils back then would have been OK.
