Stacie,
How would I find out how to get to certain lakes in our area. I live in Vancouver. I went to GI Joes last night to look for a fishing regulation guide, but I didn't see any. Do they put those out here like they do over in Oregon? Thanks!

Check out Washington Lakes They are the sponser of this board and have great info about many of the SW wa lakes! They have maps, ramp info, and fishing reports! <Shameless plug for Mike!> Also you were on the right track. Stop into the region 5 office or email Stacie Kelsey on this board and she can give you some great info! She sent me Bathy. maps of the local lakes and planting info. Matt "JeepMcMuddy" Brown

Thanks Jeep for that shameless plug. Freedom16: If there is a particular lake or lakes you need directions to let me know and I will make a map for you.

A must-have book for lake fishing is Terry Rudnick's Washington Fishing. Published by Foghorn Outdoors. To get a copy go HERE . It is 540 pages of very useful info on every body of water in WA state. Including directions.

F16, I don't mean to sound like a smart a** but all of the lakes are north of you just off I-5 ( I am not sure where Vancouver Lake is). Try a DeLorme WA Atlas or try the host web site for info HERE .

I have to agree Terry Rudnicks " Fishing Washington " is a must have book for any angler in Wa., as far as directions go. Ifished a lot of those lakes you are asking about, so if I can help you out let me know. It would be my pleasure. Good Luck.

I am making a really cool must have book myself right now. It is specific to southwest Washington - that is where you are getting the bathymetric maps from! It will have all the information you could ever want about our lakes. Stocking info, species info, water temp info, historical hightlights, map of the lake indicating shore access areas, where we have found fish in surveys (even though they move around a lot, what is available at the lake (camping, restrooms, picknicking) and lots of other stuff. I will post here when it is ready. In the meantime stop by the office, we are on the corner of 4th Plain and Grand in Vancouver or email me at kelsyslk@dfw.wa.gov and I can send you out what I currently have for a lowland lakes packet.

Stacie, I've put together a site that offer's contact number's for campground's and specie's of trout availible, took me 2 1/2 years I beleive the trout specie's is pretty accurate, but over 2 1/2 years I 'm sure I missed some or there were some change's. The campground info should be up to date. I have the phone bill's and postage bill's , magazine article's, and subscriptions and countless hour's in the library. Check it out and let me know what you think. Congratulation's on your book, I know how much time you put into it. Website: unclewes.com Good Luck
