anybody have any experience with both of these rods to make an educated opinion on which is a superior rod?

Fetha Styx homewater

vs

G loomis steelhead series

...something is telling me that the homewater rod is better but with a price tag of nearly $70 cheaper I am wondering if Loomis is just plain expensive and has an even more expensive warranty at $100 now. Fetha styx is $70 after the first year.

thanks shiners

Won't matter for plunking either.

I think he should stick with the one that he said may or may not be the one he was thinking about getting.

Ya think?

I don't have the the steelhead series, but I do have a homewater and three classic IMX loomis's. That a hard one to answer, I just got my homewater, but man for the money it is an unbelievable rod!

Loomis Imx has a nice blank with a nice handle kit. The loomis guides on the other hand cost about .05 a piece. It is a shame to put crap guides on a nice blank. I would buy a fetha styx given your two choices.

they've got alconites, which are about the lightest guides on the market, and are widely used by just about every manufacturer.

or are you one of those guys that has to have the gold-sic-alloy with titanium frames that weigh the same, but are a little harder(and make absolutely no difference in durability)?

Chum Man,

Show me the scale that reads equal weights on alconites vs. titanium frames and I'll show you a busted scale.
