Given a choice, which is better. The bell is supposed to make noise, but you never see them on local built stuff.
Which would you buy if they cost the same?

good bell bodies with a good ringer are hard to fine. let me know if you have a good source

I love the bell bodies but don't use a knocker inside them. Slide them over a bead that is just a little larger than the bell and has been one of my best spinners for the last 2 years.

Also I see you run a siwash. Obviously you like that better than a treble hook. I hear arguments both ways. Jed Davis says to use a treble, but other's say siwash.
Which hook does everyone like best.

Also, I have heard some say that a split ring allow the hook too much articulation an lets the hook tangle on the shaft.
Split ring - no split ring.

Good siwash hooks will hook better, you'll lose a lot less, and they don't get tangled and stuck on everything else...plus, in many places you can't use treble hooks.

Bell vs. weighted...it depends on what you're doing with it. If you're fishing still water, or very slow/shallow water, then the bell design will be easier to use...the deeper or faster the water, the more you're going to need a weighted body to keep it down.

Split ring or no split ring...I prefer one, but don't think it matters much...just aids in swapping the hooks out when you need to.

I'd love to see some of those bell bodies. they are just lighter than the solid bodies and work in shallower water for me. Those solid bodies hit bottom too much in some of my smaller water!

Yeah, they're Blue Fox knock-offs....I first saw the generic parts about 10-12 years ago.
They are by Lakeland.
A quick Google shows that Fishernan's Corner stocks them.
Fisherman's Shack is where I first saw them, but Don does not show them in his current catalog.
BC Angling Post might have them as well.

for the larger bell, it's a $1.47 just for a gold bell and ticker.
kind of spendy, but I haven't found silver or gold bodies anywhere except Pen-Tac and, as much as I like those folks, they won't sell to me as I am internet only.

I thought you were working with Rob Brown? i believe he paints those bells in candy colors.

as far as lakeland is concerned you can order a minimum of 100 on all their parts. have to have a registered biz though....

I use a 1/4 oz worm weight that I powder coat and bake.Fuk the split ring and just put a barrell swivel in the end loop.Easy to put a siwash on or they can add a split ring for a treble if they want.Good luck,

I like bell bodies for silver fishing, as I fish water from 2-8 feet deep and slow. Plus, I fish from a moving boat so the relative speed is even slower.

Be advised, that if you fish bell bodies (taco bells) on a regular basis, you are a Tacoman.....
