Anybody on this board that wants to come down here to La-La Land and drown some bait, PM me. I'd love to show you some of the spots I go to try and get lucky. No talking politics though.

Hank great story, pre children I would go hang out on the Smith twice a year. I have a good friend that lives on Fred Haight Drive between the Lilly fields.

2008 looks to be the year to start again, that fish is no "fluke" every year there are fish over 50 caught in the Smith

Very nice! thumbs

Kinda refreshing to have a thread with a pic of a damn nice fish, a good story to go with it and nothing more. Indeed a beautiful river and area.

Buddies and I call that 'stupid hole'. Some years they love it and some years they just don't want to live there. I know this is old , but this past season they LIVED THERE.
Nice fish. I thought it would have hung over 50 as well.

Shoot, I don't remember introducing Hank to the crowd here. I am unsure if that was a good or a bad thing at the end of the day.

Nice fish and good story! Seem to get some big ones in NorCal and Southern Oregon. Some dude on the river told me the story of his brother's world record 71.5 lb Chinook on a fly from the Rogue. Thought he was full of it until I Googled it. An old timer from my home town here caught a 70.5 lb Chinook up here in the Straits which is a Washington salt water record.

I met KK once before - big guy. I would pay money to see KK and Hank in a mud wrestling match.
