Feel free to chime in.....
The salaries for Kansas City’s 27 players on its opening-day roster and disabled lists total $36.1 million, according to an analysis of major league contracts by The Associated Press.
A-Rod alone makes $32 million atop the New York Yankees’ $201.7 million payroll. He is baseball’s highest-paid player for the 11th straight year.

He's where he belongs. Fan's love to hate A Rod and the Yankees. But an entire wasted career in Texas would have been more fitting.

He likes popcorn That's one way to stay under the radar. Admitted 'Roid user and still keeps his numbers. No integrity in pro or amateur sports. Tough to be a fan these days.

Agreed Arod is a punk BUT the Yankees also pay a ton of money in luxury tax that teams like KC, Pitt, Florida and others do not put into player payroll. A minimum salary floor needs to be enacted to bring the bottom dwellers up to a more competitive level.

NEW YORK -- Alex Rodriguez was called out for interference when he swatted at Boston pitcher Bronson Arroyo's glove and knocked the ball loose during a play near first base in the eighth inning of Game 6 of the AL Championship Series Tuesday night.
AP A-Rod brought on controversy -- and riot police -- with this swat of Arroyo's arm in the eighth.
With one out and Derek Jeter on first after his RBI single cut Boston's lead to 4-2, Rodriguez hit a grounder down the first-base line that Arroyo fielded. While Arroyo ran toward Rodriguez to tag him out, the Yankees third baseman stuck out his left hand and slapped the pitcher's glove. The ball was knocked loose and rolled down the right-field line. Jeter came all the way around to score and first-base umpire Randy Marsh ruled Rodriguez safe.
"That was unprofessional. That's against the rules," Boston's Kevin Millar said. "If you want to play football, strap on some pads and go play for the Green Bay Packers."

If he had never left Seattle, would you still dislike him?
I enjoyed watching him, and Ken, and Edgar, and Randy back in the day. Can't say as I've watched a lot of M's baseball since, though I enjoyed following their record tying winning season a few years ago without a lot of big-name players. He would have never stayed here because he is all about the money. Its okay to be all about the money, but what turned the fans against him was when he said he wasn't just about the money, that his next team had to be about winning championships too. Then he signed with Texas, soley for the money, and he lent his name to the campaign to lure Boeing to relocate in Texas. It was all downhill after that. His contract almost ruined the Rangers too and it was a major reason that Hicks had to sell the team. I will say this about Arod, love him or hate him, I would have loved to have him in my duggout during the 2001 playoff run. The M's needed a little more firepower that season to go all the way and he would have provided it.
