One more thing, Tim was one talented dude. He had talents in so many areas. So talented. The bows he'd made fairly recently were works of art. I did love stopping by and seeing his Harley INSIDE his house, perfectly shined up. Beyond fishing the guy had remarkable talents.

When I learned of this today I was 1/4 mile from the place I first met Tim, and 1/2 mile from the place I last saw and talked to him 5 months ago.... Definitely put me in a funk that was hard to shake as I passed each place and really put a damper on my last winter/spring steelhead day of the season too...

My prayers go to his family for sure... frown

Eventhough Tim could be an A-Hole with a capital A he was one of the most generous people I've met. I will keep the good memories of our friendship.
I'll think of you Tim when my son gets his first elk and when I finally catch a 20.
When I see a dude with a new earring, dyed hair, a new bike or a new tatoo I'll laugh and also think of the good times you inspired.
To this day I laugh whenever I even hear the word parrot.

I Cried and drank all night missing one of my best friends.........Why did it have to come to this, I loved Tim and everything about him and I cannot express the sadness in my heart. I have so many wonderful memories of all the trips and parties ! the man was truly a very smart and talented individual, when we came up with the idea for the first Solfly it was like wow, do you think anyone is going to pay attention to a couple of guys who love fishing and are a couple of internet yahoo's ?
Well all of you did and it was with extreme satisfaction that we pushed on with the event and raising money for the schnieder creek program.
I wore my solfly hoody last night and I am thinking about getting my old beat up solfly T-shirt framed and palcing it alongside my shirts from my days in the music biz, That would be a fitting place, I don't even really know what else to say except I pray for his girls and I will see you again someday Tim...........

Love your friend Joe

The last conversation I had with SOL was back when he was getting a divorce. I had four words of wisdom for him.... "Set a court date."

My heart goes out to his girls... there's something very special between dads and daughters, and the void he leaves behind is something they will have to deal with for a long time.

RIP, Tim

Tim was always gracious with me via P.M. on this board. We spoke on the Queets a few years back and was treated the same. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Very hard news. I feel for Tims family, his beautifull daughters that have lost their dad. I where the Sol Fly shirt today, he was pretty happy with the logo design. I just talked with Tim the other day, and was helping him track down some buisness stuff. He was starting to make handcrafted arrows, and was going to start marketing them. Tim was a master at anything he put his mind to. He was the person who set the bar so high it almost would seem unatainable. We were planning a spring Steelhead trip up in the Terrace BC area. I treasure the time we had together, and will miss him greatly.

RIP Tim, well see you again.

Matt

Tim always took time to PM me about the pics I would post of me and my son.
On the boards he was a stone cold hard ass a lot of the time, but he showed me a human side of himself.

One of his last visits to PP, he sent me this PM.

"The board thing has just gotten out of hand. Part of me is very different from the Sol charicter I portray on the board, and I've lost touch with that part. So, I'm going underground. My future contributions to the angling community will be via old school literature on the magazine stand."

I was sorry to see him go.

I love passionate people that drive themselves, that push themselves to the limit.
I didn't know him like you guys that fished with him, but he often took the time to chat with me in PM.s.
He impressed me highly with his big fish obsessions and his many trips to B.C.
He told me of his desires to take a huge blacktail buck with primitive archery gear, I really looked forward to seeing that happen as a man as driven as Tim would surely not be denied.
I lost my beloved brother in law on the very same day eight years ago.
I'll keep that day a very somber one for the rest of my life.

No hurt, no bad times, just hawg steelies & booner blacktails from here on out bro.

The world is an emptier place when it loses a man with such passion.
Though I shared Tim's lack of religious beliefs I truly hope his spirit continues in the mighty rivers of the north.
I'll miss you Tim.

I didn't know Tim as well as some of you but have some amazing memories from the one weekend he and I and Nick did
The Snoopy rod derby. I know Tim never did anything halfway. He lived more in
the time he had than many do in twice the years. RIP Tim.
