Tim always took time to PM me about the pics I would post of me and my son.
On the boards he was a stone cold hard ass a lot of the time, but he showed me a human side of himself.
One of his last visits to PP, he sent me this PM.
"The board thing has just gotten out of hand. Part of me is very different from the Sol charicter I portray on the board, and I've lost touch with that part. So, I'm going underground. My future contributions to the angling community will be via old school literature on the magazine stand."
I was sorry to see him go.
I love passionate people that drive themselves, that push themselves to the limit.
I didn't know him like you guys that fished with him, but he often took the time to chat with me in PM.s.
He impressed me highly with his big fish obsessions and his many trips to B.C.
He told me of his desires to take a huge blacktail buck with primitive archery gear, I really looked forward to seeing that happen as a man as driven as Tim would surely not be denied.
I lost my beloved brother in law on the very same day eight years ago.
I'll keep that day a very somber one for the rest of my life.
No hurt, no bad times, just hawg steelies & booner blacktails from here on out bro.
The world is an emptier place when it loses a man with such passion.
Though I shared Tim's lack of religious beliefs I truly hope his spirit continues in the mighty rivers of the north.
I'll miss you Tim.
