I just ordered a new floating line for the 5wt thanks to this thread. Never fished chironomids but going to give it a try.

Yeah, thanks for your suggestions. Have never tried that deep with a fly before. Immediately ordered some of those slip indicators you suggested after hand lining the leader to get this guy to the net.

Wow, learn somethng new every day. I never would have thought of float fishing with a fly rod. I thought my floaitng line was for that. Now if I ever get to a lake to fish that way and that deep.
