It's been many years since I've fished Lake Cushman. But when we did, it was for Kokanee. The typical pop gear and wedding band with white shoe peg corn is what we used. They were not large fish, but good eating. I do believe there are Rainbows in the lake. I don't know if there is any Bass.

i caught a monster bull trout in the river right where it runs into the lake at the staircase, about 3 years ago. it measured out to be about 15lbs, we thought it was a steelhead at first

caught him on a small black roostertail, about 10 minutes after landing a 20" rainbow trout from the same spot. the monster bull took me over a half hour to get in on my 6lb test smile

I have heard rumors of SMB in Cushman.

I would urge you to tackle the other query there.... Kokes, Rainbow and Cutts. There is even a good population of Landlock Chinook in the lake. Ocassionally, a Dolly will be caught in the lake.

If you can catch a Chinook in the salt, you can catch them here. They hit all the same gear-
Spoons, plugs, bucktails and even cut plug herring (which they seem partial to). Your best area south on the lake is a sunken forrest directly across from the old state park. Fish just over the tops of the tress in about 90' of water. North of there, just find the old river channel, drop your gear down off the bottom and you'll be in business. Depending on the level of the lake, the old river bedl will be in water from 100' to 140'.

The average fish will run 6-8 pounds, but every year fish in 15-20 pound are not uncommon. Best times to fish for Chinook will be August into late September.

It is a fun fishery! Give it a go..
