I just bought a new P&S camera. It arrived about an hour ago. The few test shots done so far seem pretty decent. What do you think? it's a Nikon Coolpix S8100 $204 at Amazon.

Hungry Dog - Flash Coverage not great

Corn from 10 feet

Same shot full optical zoom

Same shot full optical and digital zoom

Similar series of truck - All shot from same place

Outdoor no flash

I am fairly happy with it so far. I think once I learn it and tweak a few menu sleections it will be good.

Is this fishing related?

"I caught an ear of corn?"

Looks good, Dave.

Was going to ask the exact same thing Dave since you pointed me towards the Lumix 3-4 years ago. I still use it and it's the best P & S I've ever used.

I do still like the Lumix and I still plan to use it. This is a backup. I bought it because it got very high marks from many camera review sites. It has a better telephoto than the Lumix and will shoot five frames per second. Plus it has a best image feature where it makes 12 images every time you push the shutter then selects the best. So far I’m not certain I like the image quality better than my Lumix, but I think its pretty good. I am still playing with it. In a few days I should know for sure what I really think of it.
