was given a scotty electric downrigger and from comparing it to the newer models there are a couple dif things to it; red brake handle,white wire wheel,30" to 48" SS boom,2 belts,lighter-plug style plug and 1 brass round plate on the inside above the 3 asbestos brake shoes rather than the newer 2 stainless flat plates.

Tried taking off the old wire and it broke off every 20' and into multiple pieces from rust. Other than that, there was not any other rust any where else.

I cannot figure out the year of this and seems no one has any replacement parts especially the brass round flat plate. too late to call sportco or scotty, will try to call tomorrow, we'll see. thanks

Sounds like an 1101 (short arm) or 1106 long arm.

I just had a problem with my auto-stop. Called Scotty at 1 800 214 0141.
Was advised to take it in for warranty work.

The warranty extends to the original owner (which I am not) I "bluffed " the warranty registry info. Go to scotty.com, parts and service, and fill out the warranty registration. The serial number is stamped on under the cover on the main body, kind of hard to read, but it's there. You will have to guess the year, but its before 2000.

Then take it in and see Lori at Outdoor Emporium and your parts will be covered. She just upgraded one of mine with the new handle and the new version of the autostop. And she will take care of all that other stuff, too. Looks and runs much better. Unbeatable service and the cost?
