Off topic, way off topic: Zen-- Pick up or go to the library for a copy of John McPhee's "Founding Fish". It's a book that will tell you more about shad than you're likely to want to know. I'm half way through and find it enthralling. If nothing else, it will make you sharpen your fillet knife and think about a vacuum packer...
