Good read. Nice to hear about some good things going on with WDFW and a select few that fight for us and not the tribes.

Great post! Besides lending my support it occurs to me that we are so much stronger as a group when we're more than just "email blast your reps!"...

It's the sharing of perspective from those in a good position to give counsel (Ron clearly one of them) that can affect so many. Well done, very much appreciated.

Appreciate the perspective as well. Knowledge is power.

Skyrise brings up a good point.......anyone involved with the inner-dealings of the dept such as Ron is can do us all a huge favor by educating us here.

I admit I had/have some perceptions of the dept that aren't particularly rosy.....for a number of reasons, but Ron put some of those perceptions in a different light and made me consider some things I hadn't previously. I was educated and some of my perceptions have changed.

Region 6, however needs some major work and that will be my ultimate litmus test not just of Phil but the dept. as a whole.

Ron thanks for the glimpse into the politics of fish.....you have my respect for all that you do on behalf of sportsfishers in Washington. Your resounding endorsement of Phil Anderson speaks volumes about him in my book.

Ron helped with something I've said before, many times...if you have a simple solution, realize that the problem is not that simple...and there are a lot of folks carrying the water for the rest of us.

Fish on...

My vote is thumbs up for Phil Anderson as he has done more for sports fishing than anyone really knows. He is a huge asset to the sportsfishing community and you can take that to the bank. Working with Phil has stopped some very nasty things that could have happened with the sportfishing community and most will never know.

I still can't believe Koenings still holds a PSC seat after he was booted out of WDFW three years ago.

Perhaps the tide can finally turn in terms of getting better representation of PNW interests on the Pacific Salmon Commission.

That AK commercial fishing hack Koenings is FINALLY out.

WA's Phil Anderson is in to lead the US delegation... and it looks like he has just been appointed Chair of the Commission.

I've seen first hand the efforts Ron has put into a myriad of specific management issues affecting us. And, like an iceberg, what one sees on the surface is only the tip of the effort; all that background work and coordination to ensure a quality presentation takes time and effort. My repeated thanks to Ron and all of those folks who represent our interests as volunteers.

Great post and good information. Perhaps more amazing to me is that we're on 4 pages of posts here and we've yet to have an uneducated, uninformed, loud mouth trying to nitpick and tear down the basic information in the post. That's why I'm starting to spend more and more time on this site and less and less on some other sites.
