Just got one myself for Christmas. Still experimenting with mount angles etc...The wideangle view is so wide it seems to get almost everything, just a little down angle gets a lot of your feet.

I went up to Best Buy in Lynnwood, the only dealer short of a bike shop in Renton I could find in the puget sound area....and got a tripod mount today at lunch. Parts are thin so get up there quick if you want anything. Only 1 tripod mount left.
To suit a similar need, I'm going to mount it to a monopod or tripod in the boat, or to a bar with the handle mount.
As we speak I'm uploading my first timelapse taken with it today to test out how it works. I shot at 1 frame per second driving home from work in the car...
I like the folbe idea...hmmmm. Art?

What about all those ball and socket hardware for mounting the old style cell phones and also the boat electronics. I know OE use to carry that stuff at the old store. Ask Mike or Paul.

1st timelapse test...Here's the stats for reference: 1 frame every second 720p normal (not wide) 5 megapixel setting 8 minute drive home and it took 889 frames reduced image dimenions to 1024x768 rendered at 30FPS in uncompressed format. Make sure you update youtube setting to 720p
30fps was a bit too quick, I should have used 20. camera angle a bit low too.
[edit] uploaded a 10 fps version and it isnt so racy and replaced video above....much better!

Then on the hump this year I saw 3 asian dudes all in one driftboat all wearing helmets with go pro's on them !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the guys in my boat and myself were going to die laughing or of heart attacks.........you want to talk about stereo typing, well that was your perfect scene for a comedy like caddy shack if one ever exsisted so I thought no "F"ing way but I do want to get one and I do want to figure out how and were to mount one on me or the drift boat to catch all the awesome action on the Fly's boat..............

Francis, that's the single malt..
I just did another version at 10 frames per second and it turned out a lot better.
Fred- you do need to know about all the megapixel-resolution-editing-youtube-PC kinda stuff. The Go Pro's do have only two buttons, but for some reason I think that might be one too many for ya!
Just playing, but in all seriousness you do need to be able to batch edit photo's, get software to make a movie with, render the movie, upload to youtube, then post a link to PP using the embedding functionality on Bob's board.

Car sick?
Remind me not to ride with Sky Guy... while operating at light-speed, he almost became one with that bus!

I'm still learning to use my basic point and shoot digital camera. One frame at a time is plenty for me, seeing as how I take 20 or 30 pictures a year.
If you're interested in these types of cameras, I'd recommend looking at Contour cameras before you pull the trigger. Check out the waterproof models (ContourRoam). Tons of mounts, much more low profile (heck you can mount under your skateboard!). Plus, they're a Seattle company named one of the fastest growing in the nation and tops in Washington.
