I was out fishing banks lake with a buddy two weeks ago and on the last day the trolling motor stopped working properly. The metal cord that controls the direction of the motor via the foot pedal lost its tension and will not reset. Consequently, it is uncontrollable direction wise. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this problem or a good marine shop that would know how to fix it? Atleast the fishing was excellent.

What brand is it? Model?

It's a motor guide bow mount, I'm not totally sure of the model, definately older though.

It sounds like the internal cable has broken. You are going to need a new cable [or a Minkota]
