for corporations! Watch for the announcement today, right out of the Beer Summit Guy's mouth! From a 35% cap to a 28% cap for corporations was the announcement this morning on a local news channel.
Just curious how that will set with the "occupiers".
Yo, KK! What you got to say there? C'mon, Big Feller, poke your little pointed head out and make a noise.

Been around the blogs for days as supposedly a lower rate and in a trade for cleaning up so called loop holes, seeing is believing. Besides corporations never have or ever will pay taxes, they simply pass the government taxes on to the consumer in the cost of the product they produce when purchased. Nice and clean and the general population never seems to catch on. Pretty good way to fleece folks, some exceptions but not many.

"an end to dozens of loopholes he said helps U.S. companies move jobs and profits overseas. "It's not right and it needs to change," he said."

From Reuters One tax break targeted in the Obama plan is the "carried interest" loophole that lets managers of private equity and some other funds pay the 15 percent capital gains tax rate on much of their earnings instead of the 35 percent top income tax rate. The plan also tries to reverse tax incentives for corporations to relocate jobs and research overseas, while giving domestic manufacturing operations a special tax break. In a new twist, the president proposed imposing a minimum tax on corporate profits earned in low tax countries. He's got ways in mind to make up for it. Increasing the tax on dividends to around the 44% rate is one of them. Pray tell which right wing blog provided you with that morsel of info?

I did not read his budget and am pretty sure you didn't either. And I do not believe something just because you read it on some goofy blog. Show your work or STFU.
I am a retiree and am not one bit concerned about a "theoretical" change in capital gains.

RVW A. Since Murdock bought it the WSJ is perhaps one notch above a blog. B. PP is not a blog. C. If the WSJ article is partially accurate I would not agree with Obama on this one. I would like to see dividends taxed the same as ordinary income. I see that article as part news and part editorial. Much like we get from Faun News and MSNBC. D. Some of the article premises are just goofy such as the conclusion that Microsoft began paying dividends because the capital gains rate was lowered. I’m pretty certain it was because they had accumulated a mountain of cash. Apple is now under similar pressure. Has nothing to do with the CG rate. E. As we all know none of this will come to pass in any event. Obama is looking for votes. Rs looking for votes, will block anything he proposes.

Microsoft paid out dividends because they were sitting on a mountain of cash and the shareholders demanded their piece of the pie. Nothing more to it than that.
During the .com boom dividends fell out of favor because shareholders were making huge capital gains on tech stocks.
And, as usual, the whackos have put their spin on something to instill unwarranted fear. The one percenters are going to cry everyone. Panic time.
From Bloomberg:
"In what he billed a bid for tax fairness and deficit reduction, Obama reversed his previous policy of taxing dividends more lightly than wage income. The budget plan would raise $206.4 billion over 10 years by treating dividends as ordinary income for married couples making more than $250,000 a year and individuals making more than $200,000.
“We simply can’t afford to devote $206 billion for lower tax rates for the highest-income Americans,” Gene Sperling, White House director of the National Economic Council, told reporters. “Our system for taxing investment income for the most well-off Americans is clearly broken.”"

Hankster, If you take your chart and change sunspot activity for CG rates you get about the same increase in dividend payouts. (Remember 65.9 percent of all statistics are made up!) Guess maybe the chart only shows what happened - not why it happened.
