I thought the first knot would be a jam type knot. Didn't think about tightening from both ends. Loops would make it easier to pull for tightening.

What kind of rope and knot ?

I have a cousin that has broken toilet seats nationwide.....
Maybe I'll tow him in an inner tube (from an earth mover) behind the DB.

Thanks for the help everyone. I decided to go with 3/8" poly rope. Went with DD's suggestion of the overhand loop knot for the jam knot and connected and tensioned it all via a truckers hitch. Finished product feels great. I can already feel like i'll have more leverage just having my a$$ planted better than it was on the cushion. We'll see what a few trips with my 210 lb. a$$ does to it, but for now I'm happy.



Now on to better rod storage for the boat, but this will be another topic.

There is a rod butt holder that attaches to the front seat that is sometimes combined with the Moeller.
