It was nice to meet you and the other gentleman today. I wish I could have stayed longer, but the little one got bored after a couple hours.
My goal is to make it up after my morning commitment and stay till around 2ish, so I can make it back to town to pick her up from school. I've put an appeal to my friends & family on Facebook, so maybe you will have another couple bodies. It can't hurt.
I agree, Dave @ the Humptulips Grocery provided a stellar lunch! I packed food from home not dreaming that we'd get catering! applause

Hey, ya found us here on PP. Thanks for joining in on all the fun. Mikey and I will be there tomorrow around 9:30ish as he has a dentist appointment in the morning.

Bring all the helpers you can as we need'em. Anybody else wanting to join in are welcome.

And, Dave will "cater" another feast tomorrow for all attendees again, I'm ready for hamburgers, hotdogs and all the good stuff.

We'll see ya there,

This is what I have been asked and so far this is what I have found out. I will check with the hatchery tomorrow and see what's available as I now have enough hours in this project to get my pass.

As time allows I'll get it going for the volunteers if it works for us.

fp

Volunteers

Q. Can volunteers obtain a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. Yes. Volunteers who work 24 hours on agency-approved projects can earn a complimentary annual pass. Each agency must provide vouchers to volunteers, recording the number of hours they worked on each project. Volunteers can redeem the voucher for the annual Discover Pass. The three agencies have developed policies for the complimentary Discover Pass, such as where and how volunteers get vouchers, what constitutes an agency-approved project and where people can go to redeem their vouchers.

Q. Who is eligible to earn a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. Participants must be approved, registered volunteers who have completed any and all required training and work on agency-approved projects.

Q. What training is required?
A. The agency conducting the volunteer event will determine what kind of training, if any, is required.

Q. How do I get a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. Each eligible volunteer may receive one complimentary Discover Pass by participating in 24 hours of work on eligible volunteer projects and providing documentation of participation on Volunteer Vouchers provided by the agencies.

Q. How many complimentary Discover Passes can I earn?
A. One complimentary Discover Pass will be issued to an eligible volunteer in any 12-month period.

Q. What volunteer projects are considered eligible for the Discover Pass?
A. Together, the three agencies have developed general criteria for volunteer and project eligibility. In addition, each agency is developing specific criteria for its volunteer program.

Q. Do I need to purchase a Discover Pass, or a WDFW Vehicle Access Pass (where applicable) to access state recreation lands while participating in eligible volunteer projects?
No. Volunteers will be provided with a "business only" temporary pass on the day of a scheduled volunteer event, which will allow them access for that day.

Q. What are Volunteer Vouchers and how do I get them?
A. Whenever you participate in a Discover Pass-eligible volunteer project or event, you may request a Volunteer Voucher from agency staff. The voucher documents participation and the number of hours worked.

Q. Who tracks and maintain my Volunteer Vouchers until I am ready to redeem them for a pass?
A. As a volunteer, you are responsible for filling out and maintaining your Volunteer Voucher for each eligible project in which you participate. Agency staff will sign your completed Vouchers. Once you’ve accumulated 24 hours, you may redeem the vouchers for a complimentary pass.

Q. How do I redeem Volunteer Vouchers for a complimentary pass?
A. To receive your complimentary Discover Pass, follow the instructions indicated on the vouchers. Your Discover Pass will be mailed to you at the address you provide on your vouchers.

Q. Can I accrue volunteer hours from different agencies?
A. Yes. You may earn a complimentary Discover Pass by accruing eligible volunteer hours from one or all of the agencies—Washington State Parks, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

Q. Can I combine my eligible volunteer hours/vouchers with another person, friend or family member and submit them for a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. No. Each individual must accrue at least 24 eligible hours to qualify for a complimentary pass.

Q. Can volunteers who receive anything in exchange for services, such as campground hosting (free campsite/utilities) or participating in WDFW’s Master Hunter Program (special hunting access), get a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. No. The hours of service in volunteer positions that already receive something in exchange for volunteer time are not counted toward a complimentary Discover Pass.

Q. Once I have received my first complimentary Discover Pass, can I continue to earn and save hours to exchange for additional Discover Passes?
A. Yes, you may continue to earn and save hours. You may receive only one complimentary Discover Pass per 12-month period, so any additional hours will go towards a future complimentary Discover Pass. You are required to keep track of your own hours and submit them each year.

Q. Do volunteer hours donated to fulfill requirements for purposes outside of State Parks, DNR, or WDFW count towards a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. No. Volunteer hours donated to fulfill requirements for outside purposes such as school credits, graduation, or court-ordered community service are not eligible.

Q. Where can I get information about eligible volunteer projects that count toward a complimentary Discover Pass?
A. More information is available at:

Washington State Parks information line — (360) 902-8844.
Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Volunteer Program Coordinator — (360) 902-2802.
Washington State Department of Natural Resources — www.dnr.wa.gov/volunteer. (Follow the link to the volunteer calendar.)

From what I have been hearing, there's been a SEVERE lack of volunteers yesterday and today!

Come on people, a couple more big pushes and we're done!

Don't give up yet!

Please come on out and spend some hours clipping!!!!

It's fun. It's educational and as a bonus, you'll get to meet FP and Superfly (maybe!) wink

It might go into the weekend but we have no idea how many clippers show up each day.

Glad you and your family showed up and helped as we needed the help.

I will keep the totals up to date each night and we will see an end soon.

Again, thanks,

fp

We are getting there and an end is in sight.

28,828 clipped today by 5 regulars and 4 half timers.

2 guides today: Gilly and Superfly. Thanks and wish the other 100 Humptulips guides would step up and help "their" fishery.

We are gonna do 500,000 when we are through.

So far 308,230 clipped

Approx. balance 191,770

If we get enough clippers we will probably go into this weekend. I hope so as it is time for me to start golfing.

We sure do need some help if ya can spare a day?

Also we had another great lunch provided by Dave from the Humptulips store. Thanks Dave.

No pictures today,

fp

Hey Guys...........Please help, I got Andy From Island guide service coming down tomorrow and I believe he is bringing a few guys. Ben , my nieghbor and jig tyer and rookie guide who will be working for superfly this up coming year will be there and I believe he is bringing another person or two.......
I got turned down by a couple of guides who fish there.........even after I threatend them that I would make there life hell on the river they still said no.....I am going to show my new found maturity and not mention there names but they are both from down here and that is what makes it the most disturbing........ anyways I can do tomorrow and maybe a 1/2 day thursday or friday, it depends on how I feel after my injections......
Now I will be there all day everyday if someone steps up with the percoset or Vicodin or oxycodone or hydrocodone !!!! give me the pills and get out of my way because I will finish it myself !!!!!!

Peace

Gilly just slowed down everybody else. He doesn't know how to clip fish, he just rocks on catching them.
JK. Gilly rocks.

fp,
Goodwife PK and I will be there as early as possible on Sun. It is a long turnover from "Beautifuldowntownpugetropolis" but we will be there as early as we can and stay till closing.

Rick

Doctor Rick,

Pretty good chance we will be done Friday afternoon if we get another large group as we did today. I'll know more after tomorrow's total.

Thanks and I'll post again Thursday after clipping.

What a great day today. We had 17 clippers show up and we hammered out 56,730. 2nd biggest total this year for this group.

Of course we had to take a break and scarf down some of Humptulips grocery store's Burrito's and all the trimmings. Again, thanks Dave.

364,960 and 2 more days to get the grand total. It's been a lot of work but it's gonna be worth it.

2 guides showed today: Superfly and Andy from Island Guide Service. WOuldn't it be great if the local guides would show in numbers? We have had a few but there is a lot more that won't do it.

More tomorrow afternoon, thanks,

fp

UPDATE:

We clipped 41,280 of them little buggers today and will finish up
with 18 to 20,000 tomorrow.

15 clippers today. New ones were: Keith J, Emily, Chris, Ben, Dustin P and Mason E.

The regulars that just can't get enough: Mikey B, Softbite, Ernie, fp, Alan K, Rick H, Dave C, Steve B,Brian B and Ron E. Special thanks to all.

So, if you are coming from way out of town I'm thinking that you
can stay home as we probably have enough help to finish.

We also had another great lunch provided by Dave from the
Humptulips store. Thanks Dave.

No pictures today, sad ain'tcha?

Total clipped to date: 401,000

We will finish Friday, I'm tired.

Thanks again,

fp

Fred,
wont make tomorrow, I would love to see the fruits of our labor on the last day but those injections are kicking my [Bleeeeep!] ! one more day then I don't have to do them for a while..............

Thanks to everyone who made this happen.......Special thanks to fred for taking over the scheduling.........just worked out so much better then having a WDFW employee try and do what we had started.........just not the same passion and fire !

I know Parker has a quote from awhile back that I would like to see again stating that when we successfully finish these fish I will have the last laugh and I am truly grateful for that and all the participation of everyone from this board !!!

Like I said a special Thanks to Fred for making the scheduling happen and the daily reports...........

Now lets see who wins the trip.........

By the way , I only saw a few of us guides here and I am real disappointed in the lack of participation by the guides........because come october there will be more then 6 or 7 using this resource. I will leave it to Fred to post the names of the guides that showed up and helped out !

Also I know there is a drawing for the trip that I donated to help encourage people to come, word is Fred already won it, but we will know officially tomorrow..........................

Peace
Fly
