I screwed up ! help! i bought a remington 7100MLS blackpowder rifle the other day from mailorder and assumed that just because it uses #11 percussion caps that it would be legal in WA for big-game hunting! But later the thought occured to me that the cap needs to be exposed to the elements!? ARGH!@#$% ! I have not found the gun locally to inspect personally on just how exposed the cap will be!? HELP! anyone out there familiar w/ the remington blackpowder 700MLS?
thanks

The Remington 700 was legal last time I knew. You need to be able to see the cap. If you can see copper, it is exposed to the elements. Nice rifle.

dogfish- I'm getting back to you about my new remington 700MLS magnum. Yeah i think i should be legal with this new gun. Like ya said i can see the percussion cap when fully loaded & in firing position.
You have any suggestions on bullet types for .50 cal. I hunt mule deer early in the season then, blacktails later into the season. Thinking of elk this year also.
Sabots are ok? I hear 2 different stories w/ sabots...
