Just wondering if anyone has been down from the Lyman launch in a drift boat lately. I've never floated that stretch and it looks like there are a bunch of channels. Thanks for your time.

There's a Lyman launch anymore? I thought that went away in a flood a few years back.

I haven't been down in a driftboat lately, but have never known the Skagit to not be navigable. I used to float from Loretta Creek down to Gilligan Creek in my canoe every year for SRC.

There are two launches in that area. North and south Lyman ferry I think they are called. As of last season when I drove by them they were rough but totally usable.

Thanks! Doesn't look to bad on Google earth , just shows many channels and was wondering if trees are blocking.

Oh, yeah, Lyman ferry = Loretta Ck on the south side and Cockerham Island on the north. Loretta is steep and rough. Cockerham is a near-flat gravel bar and the best choice if you're taking out on the north side at SW.

Nothing to worry about last time I was down it. Side channels were sled able if you know what your doing. Stick to main river and your wide open but move fairly fast as it's a long float if you plan on fishing much. Better choice this time of year would be birdsview to cockerham. Shorter float and better late season coho water.
