Hefe, I have not gotten into nymphing, but the guides I have watched nymphing up there use fairly simple ties. Look pretty much like a yarnie in different colors and sizes depending on river conditions. Maybe a couple small legs, some flash etc. Its more about getting something in front of them they can see and presentation than the actual offering. Many gear guides are simply side drifting yarn stuck in a bait loop and catching fish.

Summer steelhead love the prince nymph. Size 10, with a gold bead head and a pair of wiggle leg for the tail. Or a tiny cerise glo bug.
I'll add to the vote for goo bugs and beads once the water temps drop if you're going to nymph. I know a buddy who is successful with 14mm pink pearl beads, but I am a fan of orange, and 8-10mm is my favorite.

I'm still waiting on the opportunity to get out fishing. Do babies ever sleep for more than 2 hours? Eat, sleep, poop. Repeat.
