We can all hope for the best, and perhaps it will dawn on the owners that the price for not sticking to an agreement could and likely will be far greater than a simple labor cost.

If things do not work out with these guys at a minimum post side views of the boat for us so we can flip them sh!t on the rivers when we see them.

Exactly what I thought. I actually figured it would "end" this way. You are dealing with drunks that sunk a driftboat and either don't have the balls or the wherewithal to take care of their own problems. As I've gotten older, I've learned to steer clear of other people's problems because you can only clean up someone else's shlt so much before some of it splatters.

If they dont give you want amd deserve I would put it back and cut your losses. I'd be damned if they got the boat back for $200 if I went through all of that. But you have to think if they don't have the money they don't have the money. Chitty stuff..

So,
Nothing has changed, the one guy says I can have the boat, the other guy I have not talked too..............I am hoping that the main guy will want to resolve this asap because I want it done. If he wants to give me the boat then fine or if he wants to pay me then fine, I just want it to be done. According to salvage laws as I read them or attempted to it read as if the boat was now my property because it had been in the river for 10 days and then I recovered it and it has been in my possession for more then 10 days with numerous attempts to settle this with nothing more then the one guy telling me to keep it and sell it to get my money , but I need to here from the main guy .... I really dont want to do anything without something in writing from these guys...........so that is where we are at........

Peace
Fly

Fly, Them problem they are having is, a sunken boat will have a salvaged title, I can only bet they collected from the insurance company, and have a new boat on the way, Once collected, the insurance company will affix the salvage title to the Vin number. A drunk years ago side swiped my rig while towing my boat, a little crease in the back half about 2 feet long 1/4" deep is all the damage was to the boat. Since shiney aluminum, they totaled it for full replacement value. then sold it back to me at scrap alum prices, and 400.00 for the trailor. So for 650.00 I am fishing my salvaged title boat, and banked the replacement check..... They probable thought it was toast, after the first attempt to get it out and then the next high water. Ask them for a written release from the one that says you can have it if he is the owner. Or ask for thier insurance info and contact them directly.... peace, Matt

I know of a few attorneys that would probably trade a couple of hours worth of legal work for a float trip or two. It would be worth having it done right instead of dealing with verbal agreemnts etc. If your interested sent me a PM I would be more than happy to help you out.

They could also explain in writing the legal aspects of recovering sunken treasures.
