What kind of cougar are we talkin' about here? The gun owners I respect ae the one's that don't brag about it.

not the hot 45 year old single women that are after much younger men. I'm talking about a 150 pound cat that has a taste for blood and can f uck your world up. Cougar and bear attacks are rare but I carry when I fish and bow hunt because generally I'm in their house and I'm not invited. I'd say I'm much more concerned about cougars while I'm hunting because I prefer to hunt alone and go to great lengths to stay away from people.

Sorry Drew. Didn't mean to let out the liberal tiger on ya. If carrying for bear& cougar makes you feel safer, then more power too you. But that wasn't what you said, and what you said wasn't what you meant. I fish but living/schooling on the Eastside (425 not 509), I deal with plenty of people that don't understand why our right to own guns is important, and even more people who are so over the top with their opinions on gun ownership that I want to hit em upside the head.

I have hiked hundreds of miles through Washington & Alaska's forests, see a cougar once, but I am sure cougars have seen me more than once, I do not fear them, nor do their presence deter me from enjoying our wilderness. You are much more likely to shoot yourself than save yourself from a bear/cougar attack.
