The simple thin bladed spoon, "little shaver", seems to work well for this guy on the Vedder. http://youtu.be/hzRNLKxLxG4

This video inspired me to try them out with a fly rod for trout last summer.

They sell them at Sportco.

Drew, I just got a Raven reel and tried centerpinning out for the first time last weekend and it was awesome. I even caught a nice hen. I recommend getting a reel soon.

Rossiman,

I've been trying lately when I can break away from spoons but all I've got is a couple spinners I set up with polished brass Hammered #5's right now. I love how good they look when you see them working though.

Nice! I was thinking of getting a Raven myself to start out. Which model did you get?

Just a few of the blades. I had him whip me up around 100. He can do any color/combo including metallic finishes which i like. The white matte #4 is probably my all around favorite for all winter water conditions. The 3.5 black or brass for summer.

Drew, they do this down on the alsea and siletz at the bottom ends of the rivers for salmon and it works very well. I believe carmen Mcdonald did a article about it for sts around 2000 or so, I dont quite remember I was getting pretty high back then but its worth looking for.

Peace

Drew, I got the special edition matrix from an Ebay store. I also got the raven 12# floating mono line which is awesome. The dude gave me a $5-10 discount (don't remember the exact amount) and a free reel pouch after I asked him if he could add dacron backing which he didn't have. There's a craigs list post of a 13' st croix centerpin rod and a Raven reel for $250 nearly new. I'd check that out, since you could easily sell the rod in my opinion and get a great deal on the reel.

Holy hell! That's an incredible hardware collection! I thought I was doing good this summer when I had about 60 assembled spoons. Haha. My supply is dwindling quick too. frown

The white matte silver is money! is that a plate job that Rob did for you? Or is that matte silver paint?

Drew,
Another good place to get components from is one of my accounts Hagen's in Mitchell SD. I get all my kokanee spinner rig blades from them and they have a wide variety of other blades available also. They have the genuine gold and silver plated colorado blades, but the silver is not matte.
Winterun

I'm kinda getting the "Pin" bug myself!!!

Hagen's is fantastic, and I buy some of my supplies there. I'm not sure if you have to have a wholesale account to buy from them, but I do know that for stuff like colorado blades you'll have to order at least 500, maybe even a thousand, of each color and style you want.

Fish on...

For Hagen's (Lakeland also) you have to have a business license. In Oregon it ia about $50.

I have ordered as few as 100 per item from them. they only charge $1 for orders under the minimum, usualy 1000. shipping can be as much as the order so make sure to buy in bulk.....

Also, might want to PM D3smartie, he might have a few laying around......... wink

Drew you can buy colorado blades direct from Fishermanshack outta Oregon to.
