It cost less than a repair on my kicker that the place down by the water "found" I needed when I took it in to get serviced.

I'll be going by there today. I'll check it out.

Yeah, Motorboat Mart on the west side is closed. I don't know when it happened, but I discovered it closed up and empty when I drove by there a few weeks back hoping to talk with Stewart about outboard motors. That's where I bought my Lund and Yamaha kicker and many odds and ends. I'm guessing leisure activities like boating took a bit hit from the recession.

I drove by Motorboat Mart today. Signage on the building says Hanson Motors. There was a sawhorse in the middle of the driveway with a piece of paper attached, but I didn't go check it out. I also called their number and I got the automated you have reached a number that has been disconnected or no longer in service.

Bummer. I liked that store.

It's been going downhill since Warshal's closed.

I know Andy at the Olympia West Marine is desperately trying to build up his fishing tackle section again, commenting on it to him or the boss, Terri, when you visit the store could really help corporate pull their heads outta their asses and see what is needed there...

the ace hardware on the westside is also a possibility, the manager used to run the spanaway Ace store that was regional leader in sporting goods so he said there is a glimmer of hope that he will be able to get a dept running here(once he finds a good manager)...the same goes, when visiting the store please ask/request that the idea be taken into consideration, he's a fishermen and is itchin to pull the trigger but once again corporate is cock blocking him..

and it reached the point of no return when Doris and Mondell locked the doors for good on the Sport Shop Cafe in Maple Valley. It was the end of an era; the time when an old building could be held together by a residue of cooking grease, cigarette smoke and fish tales past. Sorry, if you missed it.

Motorboat Mart was not well run. I tried 3 times to get a quote on a repower, without success. Others have had similar poor customer service experiences. It can come back to bite you.
