Hey guys, Yahoo here. Well I fished the Sky this morning (friday) and picked up one little 4lb. native hen. Man let me tell you, she was the funniest little steelhead I ever seen. All its fins were radically deformed except one and it had a real skinny body with a huge head!! Go figure, Overral it was a pretty slow day.

Yahoo,
I don't know that system well but I would guess that you got a late (brighter) summer fish that missed the clippping station. I've seem hens that appeared bright as they've spew egg on the bank.

that fish was probably a 'come back'. when they spawn and head back downstream they get bright again, that would explain the skinny body. Also, i have seen fish on other river systems that are hatchery fish but not clipped. the deformed fins are a give away. A nate will usually have perfect fins. That was probably what we used to call 'box fish'.
Thanks for the update on the river. I was thinking of heading out this weekend, but with the storm I will probably watch some football.
