Just wondering if anyone has been hooking into any Natives yet? I have been busy with school and out of the loop for a while. So any reports would be appreciated! I was thinking of heading to the Sauk this weekend, has anyone floated the upper river yet, whats it like?

Thanks!

rhino, fishins been pretty tough up here lately and if your planning on coming up here this weekend you better pray the river drops back into shape. New slide up at Whitehorse, the river has less than a foot of vis. right now, more like 4-7 inches. The native run usually doesnt start getting good until the end of the month. There are a few though and tons of dollies.

...heard someone caught a new state record dollie in the Sauk last month, in the 12-14 lb range. True or false?

State records on dollies here on the Sauk can be broken on a weekly basis here with the amount and size we have in here this year. I got one last week that was 27 inches long with a 16 inch girth. Not really what were hunting for though!

The last I heard was a local broke the record in August at 10.5 lbs in the Whitechuck.I happened to be driving around that day and remember the Whitechuck was rocking from a thunderstorm the night before so I wonder if it wasn't really caught in the Sauk, but who knows.I always hear from guys about the giant dollies they catch but the biggest I've hooked have been 6 or 7 lbs.Unless you got a picture or a dead fish to show me its just a fish story.

Natives coming in now on the Wynoochee and Chehalis. Satsop biggies should be in any time. Don't know about the rivers up north.

Fished the Kalama Feb. 4 in the pm up in the canyon, at the deadline drift. Caught a native buck, about 8 or 9 pounds, on a sand shrimp, under a float. Water low and very clear. Have heard of others also catching natives.
