I have a question about drift fishing a pink worm. When drift fishing this setup I have had luck using a small corky just above the worm so it will say off of the bottom, is this necessary? What are some different ways to rig this, anyone? Thanks, tight lines

They make floating pink worms. Just rig it normal without the corkie.

I as well place a corky above the worm, however I jam the tip of a toothpick into
the corky to keep it from sliding down on the worm when I set hook. The worm will last longer. I also agree with Smiles, rigging a floating worm on a hook by itself is also deadly. Mess around with it, see what you come up with.

It's going to be a great weekend to be fishing!

slayer do you thread the hook through the entire worm with the hook at the tail? I like the bullet weight idea!

I have been using small painted bullet weights above a worm or above tube flies that I tie myself.(below a float) I have to agree the bullet weights above the worm is a deadly combo at times. gets the worm down fast in the current and keeps it near the bottom.

Hmmmm,
Could the bullet weight be the cone in Bob's conehead? Just a thought, sounds kind of cool, Bass fisherman could feel more at home on the river.

A few months back there was a magazine mentioning conehead marabous. There is a plastic conehead you can put at the front of a marabou paintbrush, streetwalker, or similar pattern. I also saw some small conehead weigts more suited to flies that would work great when using a floating line. I believe Orvis makes them.
