well said i know mostly driftfishing catches fish in faster water and shallow area. twiching jigs would be a good choice for slower water .

He got as good of advise as anywhere, Vaseline. If you want to enjoy yourself and have a decent and peaceful fishing experience don't go to Barrier Dam.

Regarding the Barrier Dam, at least its a suggestion. Barrier Dam pool isn't necessarily peaceful but most of the guys fishing the pool will be chucking bait and spinners/jigs. At least he will have a chance at a fish using a technique that works.
