I really miss Fredrick & Nelsons in DT Seattle. I remember my Dad taking me there when I was a young Kid. They use to have a Gunsmith and a high end Fishing/Hunting section. My Dad bought a state of the art Orvis spinning reel along with a light weight Fenwick rod. I ended up losing that combo near Tacoma head works (set it next to a tree and took off) came back about an hour later and it was gone. frown Anyone remember Ben Paris? Me and my buddies would take a bus down there to play pinball... thumbs What stores do you miss?....doesn't have to be an outdoor store.

I just liked how cluttered it was and how much stuff they had packed in their store.
$5.00 Christmas trees were a great deal.

GI Joe's...a Portland area sporting goods store that started as a military surplus store.
Larry's...Oregon City based outdoor store

Used to hang out at the Goose Pub when we were doing the Coca-Cola plant addition in about 2005.
About the only non-stuffy place that we could find in Bellevue.

I hate sports authority so much! Joe's was actually a pretty good tackle supplier.
Jerry's in Everett was a good store too.

I used to have to go with my mom on Saturdays to downtown to Pike Place market on the bus. I usually got to pick the place for lunch, Ben Paris, he had a 110 lb. salmon mounted somewhere in there, there was a Manning's restaurant and Woolworths. Later on used to go to the REI up on East Pine, awesome place spent lots of money there. Schoffs sporting goods in Kent, Doc Freemans when they were on the north end of lake Union. They had stuff hidden all over the place. You could find almost any marine part old or current and someone could always find it for you. Warshells Sporting Good on 1st Ave. Fisheries Supply when they were on the waterfront.

Yep, the original REI. All that old former warehouse space married together made it one of a kind.
Still have/use that Phoebus 625 and REI Mountaineer down bag I bought there at a Spring Sale a long time ago.

the duffle bag in south tacoma.

B&I in tacoma, at least in the form it used to be. the last time i went in there(probably 10 years ago) it was like a sketchy flea market.

bargain bob's in downtown seattle, for the $1.99 spools of maxima pearlescent(anybody else remember that weird yellow-green stuff?)

warshall's(i can remember going there as a kid, dad never bought anything, too expensive, but a neat store).

the old outdoor emporium

fishing corner in seatac, that one went out with the plunking shacks along the green river.

gi joes

olympia yard birds(complete with rain drip buckets and pigeons flying around inside)

hell, even the lacey sportsman's warehouse. the few times they had anything useful in stock, the prices were better than cabelas.

Yeah they did. Hasn't been one here since i was 5 or so. There was in Newport last time I was there building a roof on an old folks home. That was a few years back. They only complaint I had, or a coworker, was the ants that got into the strawberry soda. He poured his own drink and the damn cup had about a hundred ants in there. We still ate there every lunch break after.
