Anyone kknow the story behind the boat that flipped on the Sol Duc, the one Bob posted pictures of? Was everyone OK? Did they get the boat out? That's too bad, hate to see that happen. Just curios...

for some reason I seem to remember reading or hearing that it happened below Maxfield. I have to agree with Bob though...stay away from wooden oars. Chances are the person who's boat went over visits this site. If so, tell your story...this may encourage the inexperienced to float the river with someone who knows it first

I heard that the boat came out. The guy who owned it walked away from the boat. Not sure who the owner is now. One of the local guides(Gordon Gracy) was in on the retrieval. The boat was in the double rapids below Witcomb Dimmel. Bad spot to break a oar!!!! That is all I have heard for now.
When it happens it happens quickly!!!!
