Wow! Thanks for brightening up my lunchhour here in Portland...
Question - Look closely at pic #13, where the guide is fighting your yelllowfin. In the upper right corner there is something jumping or rolling on the surface. Is that a fish or is it just a wave? Looks like something big......

Upon further review.......
It might be a sea bird skimming over the water.

Looks like an awesome trip Dave! I'm glad everything worked out, looks like great weather too! The endless supply of Wahoo to eat is one of my favorite things about CXI, and the yellowfin eating is pretty good as well. Did you guys wrangle any Mantis Shrimp? I'm glad to see Simon is still at the lodge, a friend of mine regards him as one of the best flats guides in the world. I can't wait to get back. Stam, K8, myself and a few others are heading to the Ikari House in January for another week of flats insanity. It is a full moon week as well, so our chances at big GT's cruising the flats should be similar to yours. I am still haunted by a few of the ones we saw last year and were unable to connect with. We do have two spots still open in our trip if anyone is interested. The days are January 14th-21st and the prices are very reasonable for flats fishing in the middle of nowhere.

Vedder certainly figured out this game we call life... and figured it out better than ANYONE on this board. Stam comes a close second.
In a different life, you guys would have been my role models 25 plus years ago.
Looking back, with the fortune I've managed (or been forced?) to squander in the past decade, it woulda bought a lot of Christmas Island trips... or the Seychelles... or Belize... or Costa Rica... or......

Crump: We had "lobster" on the first and last nights. Awesome. Are those the same as the shrimp you refer to? Had fish including Wahoo, sweet lips, fresh yellowfin sashimi, GT sashimi, and some varieties I couldn't identify. It was all great. I agree Simon is one of the best people and best guide I ever met. He is patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and happy. If i ever get back I will certainly request him again. C.I. is the place we all daydream of running away to.

Any table set with Tabasco is good in my book.
