I would like to see Loomis donate some of their riches from all the rod sales to NW steelhead and salmon habitat restoration programs.
Mr. Loomis was always so good about that.
The amount of money and goods our rep group, and shimano donates to NSIA, and other fundraisers would shock most people. Just because the public doesn't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We need the fisheries just as much as everyone else!

the only way I will ever buy into the hype of a rod is when they only claim at 98% accuracy to detect chromer bright fish bites!
the problem with this amazing technology is that the hype would be a total failure when used on rivers in Idaho.
so yes i'm waiting for the "Anti Boot Technology" until then SST all the way! I'm surprised you're not using Clarus's with the over the counter lifetime warranty.

So for the people who care for the new IMX line up (As per Bobs Sporting Goods Facebook Page) They are still going to honor the sportsmanship show prices 30% off till Feb.14th Not sure if it's all g-loomis or just the IMX You have to call and order and ship or just pickup When it gets there.

This thread(debate) was originally intended to be a advertisement of a new/upgraded rods that many of us use. If you don't fish Loomis then keep your comments to yourself. This is a typical "Chevy/Ford" argument with the Toyota guys chiming in also.
The old saying " its not the wand, its the magician" applies a lot to fisherman also...

the word that sums all of this up is this: Lamiglas yes until you break one and it takes forever to get it back because you have to go through lamisnap... i don't break a lot of rods but i do love knowing its 100$ and I've got a new rod!

Thanks for the kind words! While we aren't the same company we were in the 80's and 90's, if we didn't adapt, we wouldn't be where we are today! Change isn't a bad thing, some are just resistant to it! As fat as components, I don't know anyone else using Fuji K guides on their rods, and the new Fuji reel seats are so awesome and comfortable! There will always be people that want small changes or specific rods and that's where a custom rod will shine. The response to these rods has been overwhelming from the people have picked them up, and especially those that have fished them! If you head down to Portland, stop by the Loomis booth, shake the new rods, and say hi! Are these the same k frame guides as used on the Lamiglas SI? They sound similar but look different...
