Just changed the oil on the Yamaha's today. Made a
little video on how easy it is.

Getting ready for some Springers on the Columbia.

Neglected to comment on this when I changed the oil on my 90/65 Yamaha Jet with it last year, but I gotta say that this little device makes changing your oil about 100% cleaner and easier.

I used to kill half a roll of paper towels trying to get the old oil into a container I could take to the local auto parts/oil recycling shop. WIth this little gadget, I think I'm down to a sheet or two now.

Thanks FP!

Brian

I was one of the first to buy this from FP. Mine didn't have a flange to the bit that screws into the motor so the tube slips off. It's still OK - but it certainly does not work like shown in the video. My version takes some loving care to keep the tube on the metal bit.

Clearly he's improved the system since I got mine.

The first few that I built I did not flare the end of the little pipe and I found out that the plastic pipe would come off. I thought I contacted all that purchased one of the first ones and explained how to fix. My mistake.

Pull the plastic pipe off and take a center punch and give it a few hits with a hammer. It will spread out the end of the metal pipe and should hold the plastic on. Ya might need to heat up the plastic a bit.

If that doesn't work I'll send you another at no charge. It is real easy to fix.

I looked it up and I did contact you about the first few I built. You PM'ed me back and said you would fix. PM below

Tony,

A couple got by me that I forgot to flare the end of the metal tube and the plastic tube was loose. . Maybe if yours is loose put a drop of superglue on it or flare the end with a center punch or similar. Sorry, 1 got loose that a guy called me about.

Sorry,

Fred

Thanks. I don't have a punch big enough to make any sort of proper flare and I tried super glue and that didn't hold.

Just saying. Mine works a hell of a lot better than having oil flying everywhere like before. Props to you. I just have to be very careful. Also saying it works not at all like your video.

Salmo,

If ya don't have a center punch to fix it I'll send ya another one at no charge. Super glue probably didn't work it ya had some oil already on it. It really needs to be flared as that is what I do to every one now. Then I heat gun the plastic before putting back on the metal tube. I also use some weather strip glue.

PM me your addy and I'll get it sent if needed.

Sorry, but it is an easy fix,

fp

Used my tube on Monday to change the oil. Makes changing engine oil so much easier.

I'm going to add a piece of pipe like you show for some extra weight.

Thanks, Fred.

PM sent. Thx for fixing the problem with the original that you sent me. As I say, even with it hosed up, it still beats the hell out of the way I used to do it. If the hose was securely attached to the metal bit and didn't slip off, it'd be even more awesome. You did send me an apology and suggestion on how to fix my original and I tried that but didn't have the right stuff to fix it. I'm guessing that most folks have the later version that doesn't slip off. I look forward to that improvement myself.

Yes, good customer service.

Thank you,

-S
