As a fresh new 2014-15 fishing season rolls into high gear, take a moment to plan a few days on the water to take some young ones under your wing. Without recruiting some young blood, the fate of our sport is at risk. WDFW and ODFW host a number of 'Take a Kid Fishing' events scheduled all over the state to help motivate you. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/kids/events.htmlhttp://www.dfw.state.or.us/education/angling/family_fishing.aspIf 'events' are not your thing, you're free to do it on your own. It's just a matter of making the pledge to make it happen! As NIKE says, "Just do it!" You won't regret it. Good things are bound to happen with young'lins aboard.

My earliest memories are fishing and hunting with my dad and grandfather. Hopefully everyone's kids get the chance to make the same memories. I know mine will!

 I plan on putting' these two on a $hitpile of chrome pinks and a platinum coho or two this August.
