In the Vashon area, a good place to try is over on the Southwest side of Blake Island. There is a very deep hole, 300ft plus.

Allen Bank is always worth fishing...

A better place though is the Narrows, under the bridge. Pick a day with moderate to slow tides and stay in touch with the bottom. Be careful about snagging the old bridge, it's easy to do, but that's where the Lings are.

Jig up some flounder between Point Evans and the bridge and use them for bait. Live flounder have been known to catch very nice Lings there, sometimes while reeling in the flounder!

Those Lings will be there next SPRING too!

If I'm angling on the salt this time of year, returning Kings are the game anyway. Pt. Defiance, Pt. Dalco, Pt. Southworth, and Dolphin Point are all kicking out some occasional 15-20 lb Kings mixed in with the 8-12 lb Blackmouth. Should be getting better by the day...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...zzz...zzz...zzz...FISH ON!!!!

Yup,
I figure about two to three more weeks and the place should be rockin'. Til then it's Cowlitz summer runs.
Tight lines, Jeff

I fished Southworth on Sunday and boated a 15 lb King using a Flasher/Hoochie combo 120ft down in 140 ft of water. That's enough to get me back there for another one!
